What a way to end the year. Today I went back after catching my biggest (43") and caught a 44 1/2". 30 pound pike. This time my son was there as a witness and to measure it himself and a few other people who were fishing came over to see . One had a scale , So i was real happy to say the least . God has a sense of humour and showed the naysayers

That is a 10" hole for an idea of scale. With her mouth wide open i am glad i didnt use my 8" auger

She swallowed my hooks but we were able toget them out without any damage other than 2 of myfingers that is

Smaller than i prefer but haven't been able to get good bait for 2 years. So I am using herring that is about 7" . Not sure why we can't get alewife and bigger stuff anymore. But the herring is doing ok
