just use the magnum #11 caps w/loose powder thats what they were designed to use, they will ignite pyrodex pellets with the CCI magnum #11 cap so you might look into them.. thats all I used 25-30 yrs ago..

Going to stick with the #11 caps and loose powder. Either 777 or might even try black powder. We'll see how it works out.

Have a .50 caliber Black Knight with a percussion cap breech style plug. Does anyone know if that is compatible with 777 pellets and 777 loose powder?

I have that gun and converted to a musket cap nipple. Works fine.

No it is a nipple bigger than #11 that screws into my breechplug.

A musket cap is substantially larger than a #11 cap. A musket nipple would screw into the same breech plug as a #11 nipple.

It takes a "musket" cap.

Yes, I have seen those but man, kind of spendy.

IMO, no real advantage at all over the #11 setup...and definitely not for the cost

Thank you sir, that splains it well. I didn't even know musket caps existed. Looks like I'll be sticking with #11 magnum caps. Never had any issues with them, but again I've never tried 777 out of my sidelocks either.

T7 FFG has been 100% reliable with both CCI magnum #11's AND RWS 1075 caps. I perfer #11 setup to messing around with the plastic jackets.

No. The breechplug and nipple are two separate parts. You take out the nipple and turn around your tool to remove the breech plug. I don't recall the brand of the musket nipple but it replaces the#11 nipple. Works fine. You will need a musket cap capper unless you have small hands and can cap with your fingers.
