CVA Elkhorn pro must have kept nipple

Okay I've got a CVA Elkhorn pro the nipple threads 6x1 all the ones I've ordered offline that are 6x1 screw into the breach plug just fine, but the problem is they apparently are too short when you put the cap on pull the trigger it puts a big dent in the cap and it doesn't go off what is the difference on the CVA that were manufactured in Spain they also take a 6x1
 
That's exactly what I did but I was able to order one off eBay it seems to be the right one that works without any washers I'm going to have to order several more from this gentleman
 
One would think that the makers of these nipples could make them a tad long to help with differences in different rifles. Would there be any harm to the hammer if the nipples were a couple mm longer?
