Sorry the Western Powder .45 Cal BH 209 Load Data File Failed

Thank you Ron for fixing & sending , surprised Western Powder didn’t ever Officially Publish it

This morning shot the 50 caliber rifle, Fury 50 caliber 275 grain Star Tip MZ bullet, wool wad, 100 grain Blackhorn powder, Federal 215 primer.

Chronograph Results:

2083 fps
2109
2089
2060

Average = 2085 fps

This morning much the same as yesterday, except primer is changed.


Yesterday morning/this morning shot the 50 caliber rifle, Fury 50 caliber 275 grain Star Tip MZ bullet, wool wad, 100 grain Blackhorn powder, Federal 215 primer. Primer change to CCI large pistol primer.

Note how the 275g Fury with a 100 grain load using direct ignition is faster than the 275g Parker using a 120 grain load.

It seems to me the maximum load of Blackhorn using direct ignition is 100 grain

So, you Feel that Direct Ignition in the TC Omega takes Approximately 17% Less BH 209 to obtain like Pressure / Velocity?

There is caveats.


Different chronographs were used to collect the data, as were different rifles, as were different powder lots, as were different bullets, etc. etc.
