Just a tip that I found on this forum that is most beneficial and extremely important and that is the "don't go below mark" on your ramrod.
What it is is determining where the chamber ends on your smokeless conversion. (Not for barrels made for smokeless from scratch). When you find out where the chamber ends insert your ramrod and mark it for reference. I even like to back out my ramrod out a bit more for an extra precaution. This prevents you from having your bullet enter the chamber area because of too light a charge or inappropriate powder which could cause a dangerous pressure spike.
At least that's what I believe. If anyone else has another reason please correct me. I just want us new guys to be safe.
