There's a group in So. Africa who are preparing to do their second combo/hunting trip with genuine black powder weapons, gear, clothing, and camping items from the 1880 era. Very few of the rifles are muzzleloaders but all use black powder in period weapons recreating a Boer situation as found in 1880.
The one they did last year got them fired up to do it better this year.

They are using no refrigeration, generators, batteries, etc and are even using an oxcart as part of their "trek".

That is a fascinating site!
I registered on there last year and made contact with some of the guys. They are VERY serious about being historically correct, but their long guns are not always appropriate for the time. Problem is that they are limited in what they have access to.
