They look good. Should grow some more before hunting season.
 
I agree Raf....there is no hunting on the island though. It would not be very sporting even if it was allowed....the deer have little/no fear of humans.
 
Same thing around our place at the lake. No hunting and pretty tame deer, except this past weekend. It was a holiday weekend and the local hotel sponsors a beech volley ball tournament. The competitors are OK, but it's the 5 or 6 thousand party animals that show up that are a problems. Lots of noise, rowdy behavior and such so the deer disappear for the weekend.
 
No...this my first summer out there...my friends who have lived there for years are not hunters.

The problem would be that there is little public land. You would constantly be on others peoples property snooping in the grass. That wouldn't look so good..
