How to inspect a bore

Not sure I know how does one inspect the bore on a traditional side lock ML ? I’m interested in a rifle buts it’s an auction piece so I can’t run a patch down the barrel or any way to use a bore light that I can think off. These auctioneers won’t let you pull a nipple or do much of anything. Any advice

They use to make a Lil bore light you could drop down the barrel, a real bright pen light mite work? Sorry wasn't much help.

If you're going to an auction and plan on possibly buying a sidelock you should carry one of these. Thill Nite Brite battery/light that will fit down any size bore, even a .32 cal. (even a .22 but not a .17) That's about the easiest way to look at a bore other than carrying around a bore light that can be hooked up to your phone.

Bronco Those look interesting and if they will slide down a 32 cal bore they would answer. I need to see if I can get some dimensions on them but they are probably the size of the battery or slightly bigger

They're only about 1/8" in diameter and 1 1/4" long.

Ive got this camera. It is small(large cell fone) lightweight, rechargable, great picture, but expensive. Worth it to me. Fits in my pocket and has never failed me. I take it to every auction and gun show, i had a Teslong and it was ok but it quit after 6 months.
