I should have took more pictures. The skull is on the way to the beetle shop. I’m more of a ‘European mount’ guy lately, lower cost, easy care.
One guy was a little newer to deer hunting, I tried to get him some action. He had a shot but missed with his slug gun, anterless. He did enjoy the buck recovery, we roped him through the creek, kinda deep, then took over with the ATV trailer. The hill was just to steep and slippery.
A fair amount of the hunt was wet, some rain. I took 4 shots at game over the last two days, fired off the last load on day 4. I do nothing between shots besides the reloading. The gun fired perfectly every time. I contemplate trying the straight-wall rifle cartridge in IL, but really don’t see a good reason to leave the M-L home.
