Some of those U.P. counties are a little skinny on deer. I didn’t go this year but usually hunt Baraga, or parts of Houghton County. Most deer are around towns, more food, less predators.

Even with that being true, I still do my ‘big woods’ hunts, tracks are few. I about never see another hunter or hear many shots. When you do hear a shot, could be dispatching a porcupine or testing the zero on a red squirrel.
