Why is it that every year, a few days before opening season i get sick? I just felt it hit me a few hours ago, body is achy, throat feels a little sore, some coughing.

I can guarantee you that i'll be out in the field no matter what! I have the .54 shooting sweet and am not going to miss a cold morning on opening day  It will be interesting to see how those 224gr round balls do on an elk.

Now to go find some meds and get it into my system asap.

Good luck and I hope you feel better. Be sure to get all the sleep you can. A tired body is more prone to illness and heals slower. I will be waiting to hear how that .54 caliber ball does on an elk. What do you guess is the max range with that roundball?

I feel comfortable with shots in the 125-130yrd range. It just really depends on wind as i know the round ball is easily thrown off course.

Well if you put that ball in their heart, I don't care what people say.. that is a dead elk. Good luck
