In the original Savage 10 ML owners manual it lists IMR 4227, H4227, Alliant 2400, and Reloader 7 as appropriate powders. Also in the paragraph above the load data it says Win. 571 can be used although no load data is given..

In the Savage 10 ML II owners manual it lists appropriate powders as, IMR 4759 (no longer produced I believe) Accurate XMP 5744, and Vitvouri N110.

My question is why is H4227, Imr4227,Win 571, and Alliant 2400 not recommended with the 10 ML II?

Are those ball powders ok with the primer module for the 10 ML and not the breechplug of the 10 ML II?

Will the ball powder migrate through the flame channel of the breechplug of the 10 ML II causing Issues?

Can you use H4227, IMR4227, Win571, and Alliant 2400 in a 10 ML II?

Is anyone using any of these powders in a 10 ML II?

5744 is a FILTHY powder requiring frequent swabbing of the bore.
VV N110 is very clean burning but ya better not use more than 42gr with a 250gr bullet.
4227 can be difficult to ignite. A tight fitting sabot in a 300gr bullet had the most success.

Personally, I got sick and tired of all the problems with the factory barrel and changed it
out for a .45 barrel. Not only was accuracy many times better, but both bullet and powder
selection was better.
