Somehow screwed my right bicep up while sleeping Thursday night.

Been doing the bengay thing, here I am at 52 smelling like an old man

Woke up at 4 this morning screaming in pain cause my arm slipped and flopped around....

Cant go shooting or fishing. TBH I dont think I could drive a stick shift safely like this. Sucks...


May need to switch to Tiger Balm ... or bourbon

My daughter put me on to a product called Willow Balm which is specifically for arthritis, but it works equally well for other muscular aches and pains. Mild odor and it works well.

Bow hunter here at 64. Had to turn my bow down to it's lowest setting at 60 lbs. Even then, it is a challenge . Shoulders and back are a mess from construction, overhead work , welding and cutting a lot of firewood.
As much as it hurts, try not to loose your range of motion. Very hard to get your range of motion back after shoulder injuries & surgery.

I wish I had your problem , 30 yrs ago Moose /bear/deer and an occasional Coon with a Big Horn take down 65 Lbs. shot instinctive ( Bob Foulcrod) Pope +Young Board member admired my killing stuff /never saw better was his opinion! I now have grief shooting a 40Lb stik bow but still keep meat in the freezers but yup it keeps getting harder !!!!

I used to say that to my students with the ending, "it will never leave you like even family can and is your ONLY TRUE friend".

Well, my true friend has been by my side for many, many decades so I guess it is indeed true. After saying this one student & close friend thought about it for a few long moments and said, "that kinda sucks". And indeed it does.

Lots of good input here, so far.

A few thoughts, from someone who’s just a hair older… A few years ago (okay, twelve…), I had surgery on my left ACL. My wife had surgery on her right rotator cuff. I was buying a used car w/manual transmission… but we couldn’t drive it home! I was consider that she could clutch and I could shift from the passenger’s seat… but we thought, “This might not end well!”

We knew the seller, so we paid for the car, and waited a couple of weeks until my knee was better healed.

When you’re getting in rough shape from ”sleeping wrong,” you know you’re getting old. Be sure you don’t sneeze, lest you “throw your back out!“ …and you think I’m joking…

I’m fairly certain they make unscented Ben Gay. If not… something similar. I prefer the scented… just like wearing red long johns, it just “feels” warmer!

I love Tiger Balm, though it’s pricey. And, like Brylcream, “a little dab’ll do ya!” Don’t know if Tiger Balm comes in an unscented version or not, but the regular stuff will open up your sinuses!

Finally… if you start medicating with bourbon… you KNOW you can’t drive, right?!?

Good luck with getting healed up. Usually stuff started while you were sleeping tends to heal up pretty well…

Sneezing and throwing back out I am not familiar with -- yet.
However, sneezing &/or coughing sends electric shock down the back of my leg is something I am intimately familiar with -- on a daily basis!!
Spinal stenosis sucks...bigtime

Sucks getting old, but I'm still going at 74 . Was a Diesel Mechanic for 54 years ! Beating down truck tires & butting in 200 lb rear Springs Guess that's what keeps me going and thankful that I can still hunt & fish until I get to the age I can't anymore .

I had two rotator cup surgeries. The last time I pulled my bow back it was down to 50 lbs.

Mine is 40LBs with training wheels only because it cant go lower , 35 yrs of 55/65 Lb Fred Asbells Big horn take down . How far we've fallen!!!/Ed

Old Spice, Right Guard and Bay Rum…are old guy smells….really old guys smell like urine and dirty hair….
So yer doing great with that Bengay smell.
