I just heard the news, Antonin Scalia died today. For those of you who live in a cave, he is one of the most conservative justices on the Supreme Court of the USA.
This means that President Obama will appoint a successor which means a liberal, Second Amendment-hating judge to take his place. You can guess 'the rest of the story'.

The next gun control case that goes before the Supreme Court will go to the anti-gun side by a 5-4 or 6-3 vote.  :no:   If you've been thinking about buying a gun, do it now.

Immediate problem will be the court's decisions during this session. With Justice Scalia it was a split  court usually 5-4. Now it will be 4-4 and if one of those less conservative than Scalia faulters then - wellll - look for a push to get more gun cases forced into the session.  THEN you have the problem of obummer's appointment and (woe un to us) maybe 3-4 by Bernie or Clinton II.

Reagan appointed Kennedy in the last year of his term, replacing a moderate/left leaning Justice. 
The Democrat majority Senate allowed the vote. Mitch McConnell voted for Kennedy's appointment. 
(Seems hypocritical of McConnell to block things now, considering)

IMO: The Heller decision will not be over turned anytime soon regardless of court makeup. The US supreme Court operates under the doctrine of "stare decisis" (let the decison stand). That is; the decision stands, even if the new court would rule differently. Supreme court decisions are seldom nullified by later rulings.

As an Independent, I will step in here. Object if you will. We will likely decide the election.

1. Iran is a **** hole. Thank God we got something besides another war. There is no good solution.
2. Rainbow. I am suspicious of anyone who even cares what goes on in some one else's bedrooms. 
3. Veterans. I have many friends on both sides who ALL love veterans. They also have serving sons 
and daughters. I have family in the wars now. This is not a partisan issue. It is an American issue. The 
politicians are not serving them. Ask instead how many politicians have serving sons and daughters. The 
answer is ZERO. Ask THOSE questions.
4. Obamacare. IDK. ??? I am happy millions have insurance now. Ignoring the problem sucked.
5. No one hates freedom because they disagree. Unless, they take up arms against America. Then shoot the bastards.
6. Taxes. No one loves taxes. But, there is room for honest disagreement about taxes vs. services.
7. Party. Mine is American. When yours means more to you than that, we have a problem.

I have no party. I vote for the best candidate. I never voted for Obama, so I don't know why you're throwing him at me. Obamacare cost me money too.

My medicare has been raped. I don't want SS to get the same treatment.

I'm not dumb enough to vote for someone I don't like just because they're in a certain party.
