So I bought some Pyrodex Pellets.
I went to the range today to try them.
I was in the process of loading: revolver on the loading stand with pellets and wad in six holes of the cylinder when the range officer calls for a “clear”. I put a yellow zip tie in the muzzle with the revolver still on the loading stand (to show it was safe) where you can see the wad and clearly can see there is no bullet, and the cylinder is NOT CAPPED.
The range officer (some punk they hired) said next time you should shoot them off when I call a clear.
I tried to explain to the PERP that a black powder revolver, pistol, rifle, shotgun, is not considered loaded unless there is a percussion cap on the piece or the pan has been charged with powder.
He wasn’t having it.
The ill informed.
And we wonder how we have survived this long?

Absolutely Next time I go it will be on Wednesday when the blackpowder crew shoots.
The sad thing is, if I had laid it down muzzle toward the target and the zip tie somewhere close, he wouldn’t have said a thing.
