I posted the other day about cleaning after every shot. Today I cleaned after every shot today, 2 50 gr pellets of 777 and 240 gr XTP. went from 2 1/2 inch groups to 1 inch @ 100 yards. That'll do since i can't adjust the powder amount. I'll see how the 290 gr TMZ shoot next time.
Would you more expierenced shooters be satisfied with this for hunting or would you play with powder?

My concern with pellets: I have seen pellets come out of the barrel, burning through the air on the way to the target, only to fall a few yards away. They obviously have not expended their energy inside the barrel, so shots have to vary. I only use loose Triple Seven when hunting. There is no speed benefit to pellets over pre-measured powder vials, which I use.

Only a 3 shot group, hopefully I can repeat it:D
Keep your pellets DRY. If they set around they can collect moisture and that's the reason for fizzling out the barrel. Keep them in a dry spot and they'll work just fine. Your outfit isn't a long range combo, but you'll do fine to 100. Shot placement is ALWAYS key.

For many years i hunted with two 50 grain Pyrodex pellets interchangeably with 100 Grains of Pyrodex along with the .430 240 grain XTP bullet. Bullets fired with pellets and loose powder went into the same group at 100 yards.

BTW: Pyrodex pellets have a black powder ignitor on one end.

Sounds normal to me.

Confidence helps anybody’s shooting and 1” at 100 yards should give you a lot of confidence with that combo. I’m not a pellet fan either but that kind of accuracy is really hard to argue with.

FWIW I have had excellent results using 2 pellets of T7 in my CVA Accura V2. I hunt with a clean barrel.

So you don't snap a cap before loading? Do you also clean between shots while sighting in? I have. V2 also.

1 inch group? That is great for hunting unless you are looking to stretch out past say 125 yards. Can be done but you really need to practice.

The xtp is a great all around projectile and has proven itself time and time again. As well as the entire Barnes lineup..as for your powder pellets, if your getting 1” groups at 100 yards I’d leave it be like others have said. That’s plenty enough taking game. Pellets can be finicky to moisture and oils but if kept dry they seem to work great for guys.

No I load & hunt with a clean barrel. When I sighted in my V2 I had several shots without or before cleaning. These CVAs are crazy accurate. I have the Nikon Muzzleloader scope mounted on my V2.

I have often wondered if using T7 powder would give me better groups than T7 pellets. I have had good luck with T7 pellets, usually around 1” to 11/2” at 100 yards with a T/C Triumph and 250 gr Shock Wave sabot. Maybe this winter I will get out my chrony and test the velocity at different amounts of powder.

MOA at 100 yards is 1" which I consider excellent shooting and I doubt that using powder instead of pellets would allow you to improve on that. JMHO

I wouldn't be satisfied with that.
Up until two years ago I shot similar loads you are using and never happy with results.
After reading about the benefits of 209BH loose powder I changed. Accuracy is much better and there are no crude rings plus the clean up not nearly as difficult.
