Its a balmy 79* on the back porch & 100% humidity in north Fl.. Skies are dark grey & rumblin with light to heavy downpours. Not a day to play outside.
I lived in central Florida for over nineteen years and I don’t miss the heat and humidity. Except maybe in winter 🥶 lol.

MM we don't get as hot up here in the mountains of SW Va.as it does around richmond and the coast , which makes summer a little more bearable . i've seen low 90's for the highest high since i got here 5 years ago . i've seen it hit 106 in richmond when i lived there ... actual temps , not heat index . high humidity across the state though :( .

78 for high today in the valley of Virginia. Dew point is finally dropping to low 50's, it has been in the mid 70's! Which is oppressive humidity.
Dog Days end today so hopefully it's gonna be better. Looking forward to autumn!

we're about 2 hours SW of roanoke . takes us about 5 hours to get to richmond . them long drives get to me these days . used to be a traveling salesman , but couldn't do it anymore even if i wanted to .

I never thought I'd miss deer hunting in the freezing temps, snow & ice, but then I'd never tried deer hunting when its 90* w/80-90% RH either. I'd move from this state if I could.

It’s like the North Pole here in winter but I still don’t regret moving to Maine.

I bet it is like the NP up there. I've never been farther north than upstate NY - in the summertime.
I have a body full of shattered bones & lots of plates, pins, screws & rods in me & arthritis settin in bad, so, I can't do - snow & ice anymore. On the other side of the coin, this 10+months of high heat & really high RH is abit much to deal with now as well at this age & state of health. There really is - no " happy medium " option avail., so it is what it is, & it could always be freakin worse. I can't even wear my normal hunting clothes here until a cpl time in late Dec - the season end in mid Jan. I have to hunt in my spring turkey gear & sweat ma boys off, swattin skeeters the whole time lol. No, hangin my deer in the barn of just out back in the yard from a tree to cure for a few days to a wk bc ambient temps allowed that. Here, the flies are all over the deer as soon as gutting starts & they will cover the deer while I'm skinning & breakin it down. Never had that to contend with before. So its ice chests - big fishing & camping coolers used to cure until I get it all processed up & in the freezer.

I hear you on the pain, I have bone spurs and tumors in most of my joints but still rather be here than sweating my boys off lol.
