Opinion. Are you really hunting if you

have wifi in your stand? I have a back yard stand where I am able to connect. Just saying. Not sure if it qualifies as a real hunt if you have wifi contact.

    I was after deer but....

I was chatting with a group of friends who hunt the local area. All of them are complaining about how much the deer density has dropped off. One other issue is that some who were successful seem to have had deer pushed by coyotes. Tomorrow after work I plan to sit in the same stand but I will...

    I was after deer but....

I should have weighed it but I did not. We have big ones in Massachusetts.

    I was after deer but....

It was Wednesday and I am still on the school vacation week. I arose before ole Sol appeared in the eastern sky and decided to bowhunt my own land near the border of a refuge. I have a nice pop up blind and so sat for some time. To make a long story short nothing but some birds and squirrels...

Do you read in your deestand ?

Hello All: As a rule I hunt after work. I get out at 210 PM and I can be hunt ready in one of many treestands by 3PM or so. I do not read when I am in a stand because I will only be there for a couple of hours at best until sunset. You see our muzzleloader seasons are after the bow and...

    Wyoming Success

Excellent shooting. I was in Wyoming for November but just passing through, more or less. I was really impressed by what I saw and could see myself moving there.

Interesting article on the future of muzzleloading

Amen to that. We all share a common enemy, so to speak, in the form of the anti hunter. They must love the factions that have put us at each other's throat.

    Northwest-legal

Thompson Center used to make the Black Diamond and Omega inlines with a Northwest compliant model. I checked their website and I do not see it thus I am assuming it is gone. http://www.midwayusa.com/Product/516852 ... lue-barrel

Connecticut wild turkey hunt albeit late to tell

This has been a tough year for my wife and I. Between a layoff, her dad having cancer and then on Fathers Day my Dad passed away things have been very tough to deal with. So much of my time has been spent with Mom and dealing with the aftermath plus I will admit that Dad was my best friend and...

    White squirrel

My Dad has two albino squirrels that he shot when he was younger. Both have been mounted. It is something quite rare.

    Hit the bear lotto!!

Good news. I never realized there was a black bear lottery permit in Minnesota. I have hunted for bear in Maine, New Hampshire and my old home state of Massachusetts. The big thing if you are using bait is to be in a position that is scent free as possible.

    Hit the bear lotto!!

Good news. I did not realize it took so long to get drawn for bear in Minnesota.

    Connecticut Spring turkey

The alarm woke me with the sound of static in the wee hours of the morning. As with many things the early bird catches the worm or in this case the turkey hunter catches the bird. I downed some isotonix vitamin powder and a power bar for breakfast. Grabbed my large satchel which contains all...

Hunting Connecticut for the big birds

This past Saturday I arose at 355 AM to the tune of some country artist. I grabbed a bite and two cups of coffee to revive my senses. Donned my permethryn infused clothes and I was headed to my spot. When I arrived it was somewhat light out. I heard three gobblers to the southeast of my...

Guys with more then one muzzleloader.

I have more than one muzzleloader for different hunting applications. When I hunt out of state I use one of my specialty pistols like my Kahnke M82. When I hunt in state due to the law I use my TC Carbine with the 50 caliber barrel.
