    50x40 sabots

Thanks GM-54, I ordered from Precision Rifle to save a few bucks.

    50x40 sabots

Anyone know a place that sells the MMP Blue 50x40 sabots for a good price?

    50x40 sabots

I was wondering if the crush rib would cause too little seating pressure.

    50x40 sabots

I've only used the MMP's and I'm down to 12. The Harvesters are a smidge over half the price and easier to find so was thinking of ordering them unless they perform different.

    50x40 sabots

yes, for loading 40 cal bullets in 50 cal MZ

    50x40 sabots

Anyone try the dark blue 50x40 sabots from both MMP and Harvester? Is there any noticeable difference loading, sabot length, accuracy?

    45-70 conversion with N110

    OK, thanks

    45-70 conversion with N110

D55, I think I'd be looking for a .399 or .400 die so that I can make .402 bullets load easier.

    45-70 conversion with N110

Interesting about the fixed sizing die for $28. Never heard of that before. May get one.

    45-70 conversion with N110

I'm shooting 200gr SST's and 225gr Pittman Accumax's. Also got 225gr Fury's so I got plenty to choose from. Had good luck killing deer quick with the 200gr SST's. Haven't used a wad yet and likely won't crank up the powder charge enough to need them. 36gr N110 gets me about where I wanted to...

    45-70 conversion with N110

SW, your speaking my language. I kept thinking why do I have to shoot a 275 or 300gr bullet at a deer. Elk, OK, I get it. If, I wanted to shoot 500 yards, OK, I get it. But for 300 yards and under a 200gr bullet should be more than enough to get the job done on deer with a lot less recoil...

    45-70 conversion with N110

I went to the 200 yard range today with my 35gr loads of N110 and tested the 200gr SST and the 225gr Pittman Accumax with the light blue sabots. Accuracy was comparable, right about 2" at 200yrds. For kicks I fired 2 loads of 36.0gr of N110 with the 200gr SST's. They landed right in with the...

    45-70 conversion with N110

D55, I ordered one of those Teslong borescopes off of Amazon. Looks pretty slick. I don't know if I'll even bother trying 36gr, I'd be satisfied with what I saw with 35gr. My goal was 2500fps and I'm close.

    45-70 conversion with N110

Made it out to range again. Shot 35gr N110 with 200SST and light blue sabots. Velocity was 2455fps with 23E.S. Accuracy was good and sabots still look perfect.

    45-70 conversion with N110

I would think this is a 300yrd gun easily with an accurate load under the right conditions. 200 or 225gr bullets are plenty for deer at that range when launched at 2500fps.

    45-70 conversion with N110

I read a post on Doug's Message Board that said maximum for break actions is 45k PSI. I'm sure I couldn't get anywhere close to that with N110 before blowing sabots. Any thoughts?

Very true D55 but just wondering where the safe limit is.

    45-70 conversion with N110

I won't be cleaning it again for some time but I did clean the heck out of it after my previous session. Anyone have any thoughts what the maximum load of N110 would be, pressure wise, on a 45-70 CVA conversion using a 200 or 225gr bullet with sabots? I seem to remember reading that the sabots...

    45-70 conversion with N110

Also, set Chronograph at 25' from muzzle so muzzle velocity was really about 2400fps.

    45-70 conversion with N110

Fought the mud and made it to the range. Shot 33gr N110 behind a 200gr SST with light blue 40/45 sabots. No wad. Velocity was 2375fps with 17fps E.S. Fouling shot was an inch low right, next 2 shots in the same hole. Sabots look perfect. Recoil was noticeably less than when shooting 59gr...
