A hobby of mine is picking up abused, neglected, or otherwise overlooked Muzzleloaders & investing way more time, labor, & money into them than they’ll ever be worth. Anyone else do this? I just thought I’d share some images of one of my projects; it’s a Traditions Tracker 209 that I picked up at a local pawn shop for basically nothing. It was a fun & fulfilling project considering the rifle’s extremely humble beginnings

I have done that in the past. I am ‘kind of’ looking out for a Traditions Thunderbolt in .45 to restore.
The wood on that one looks pretty cool. Is that grey spot water marking? Gives it nice character, imho.

I have done a few friends of mine muzzleloaders and sometimes I do for free and other times depending on the gun I ask for a little pay for them.

I’m not sure what caused the discoloration. It was present in the stock blank & went through it. I was hoping it was just on the surface but it ran deep.

Just finished a 9mm rifle I picked up at a gun shop the tag said Wall Hanger all it needed was to clear up the lock and tighten some screws and it was ready to shoot .So I took it out and did just that and it shot great now I may sell it to someone that will use it more than me.

I know exactly where you’re coming from. This is what I tend to do, pretty wood or not. Guns need to look good and shoot good.B4948838-BD42-40E0-A9F7-DB02A4113451.jpeg
