Hello, I am trying to figure out what model Knight 50 cal ML I own? It just says Knight 50 cal D.I.S.C. BLACK POWDER ONLY
S050046

There seems to be many models and variations and I am trying to learn some things before I head to my local gun shop.

I never received anything with it but the Gun. I actually bought it from a Freind who’s son passed and i was trying to help him out and now want to learn and do things right.

Has front sights and is camo with what seems to be standard stock. Any help or direction would be amazing. Thank you in advance. Larry

:welcome: To the brotherhood. Looks like a Disc extreme full plastic jacket model. Good luck :lewis:

Serial # is 40,000 too high to be an original disc. It’s a disc extreme.

THANK YOU EVERYONE, so lucky to have found a solid forum where not knowing is actually okay. I was leaning toward the DISC Extreme but could not tell if it was converted or came that way.
The guy I bought it from also supplied a few orange Primer Disc, sorry should have gotten a pic sooner. I am not near my gun and my plan is to take it to a local gun shop that deals with Knight.

okay so it would seem I have everything I need to shoot but after watching videos and reading it would seem this is totally a doable situation to use what what I was supplied but … lol. It would seem this is a simple system but dirty? True?

I believe I would be more into “clean shooting“ if that is the correct term. I heard the sabots can leave a film in barrel, hard to load and maybe not as accurate? Also the Pyrodex is dirty?

So with this said am I over thinking it or am I kinda looking to be too much a a naturalist…. Lol. just knowing me I like the idea of clean shooting and maybe even be a little more old school by loading my own powder and going the power belt route or something along that line. Again your guys experience is worth a 100 wasted shots and since I am getting into this sport I do not want to waste tons of time starting out down a rabbit hole to just be heading more traditional. I figure since I have not even shot a muzzleloader once, let’s hear what you guys have to say…. needless to say I am okay spending money to get set up as shooting is quickly becoming my go to hobby as I keep adding to my gun collection.

Again much appreciated information everyone, thank you in advance for any opinions or information you want to add.

Larry

Spend some time becoming familiar with cleaning after shooting. The bolt comes apart on the Knight, for cleaning. With many of the powders, you have to clean things well not long after shooting. Blackhorn 209 gives you more time.

That don't look like the Original Bolt that used the Orange Primer discs. Looks like the Extreme bolt, as mentioned, that uses the Red FPJ. Might post a closer pic of the end of the bolt to be sure but sure looks like the Red FPJ bolt. On a good side note... that would mean your real close to having a sealed up rifle by just adding a Lehigh Plug and adapter for the Bare primer set up. No disc needed then.
