ANTIQUE 18th CENTURY BUFFALO HORN HANDLE FOLDING KNIFE.

Fine Antique American Revolutionary War Period Folding Knife, circa. 18th century.

Measurers: approximately 8 inches long (opened) 4.50 inches closed X 1 inch wide X .65 inches in thickness.
Scales of knife are made of buffalo horn, with hand forged steel blade and spring assembly. A fine example of massive proportions in good working order.
Folding knives were also very common. Used for everyday camp chores and cooking, easily carried in shooting bags, waistcoat pockets, or breeches.

For sale from Bannerman & Sons at our Pollepel Island, NY address in 1941 by Turner Kirkland of Dixie Gun Works, then traded at a gun show in Paoli Pennsylvania that same year.

These old folders are bringing good prices at different auctions, problem is the auctions‘ commissions are becoming too high these days.  I sold this to a collector located in London England last year for $650.00 American.

~~ USED - OVERALL GOOD CONDITION FOR ITS AGE ~~
