Got this rifle in trade 4 or 5 years ago at a Rendezvous. Older gentlemen had this and he prided himself on 150 yard and 200 yard steel targets. He shot and had over 200 muzzleloaders he also push the limits. The rear sight is missing he had a special rear mounted buckhorn sight that mounted to the weaver base.
This is an Hopkins and Allen underhammer lock. I was told the barrel was a Long Hammock appears to be 1-1/8 accross the flats. I don't know twist for sure he was using cast .575 roundballs . So its probably 1 in 60 to 1 in 72 twist. It has a musket nipple on it. He had 2 types of rifles in his collection. 1 Perfect show condition, 2 ] Workhorse shooting and hunting this rifle a well kept tool to be used and taken care.this is the shooting workhorse tool. Rifle might be taken apart to ship.
Has globe front sight with stud.
