Do any of you fellas, lap the barrel of a new muzzle loader, when it is new?

I believe Doc White, used to lap the barrels, as part of his accurizing service

I will generally lap a barrel with very fine Clover Compound, but only 10 strokes, then I remove the patch and impregnate the new patch with JB's, and do the same thing about 15 to 20 strokes, depending on how tight it is. I have never done it with a ML.

2 of mine are hand lapped from the vendors. The only thing i ever do with others is a good scrubbing with JBs or the Montana Xtreme bore polish.
