Bore Rust Frustration

IMO I don't think its rust but like a previous poster said oxidized or dried oil.
But I would advise scrubbing with a bore brush or even lapping with a bore polish.

Get one of those cheap steam cleaners off Amazon they will clean it down to bare metal, dry then oil. Make sure to put gloves on when doing it as barrel gets hot but it works.

There is a bunch of them. Which one do you have.

Its just a cheap one I purchased off Amazon not even sure of brand made in China.. they are all basically the same just different colors/names etc.

I clean with a steam cleaner and dry with 99% alcohol. Then oil the bore. Never get rust of any kind
