I made this (hybrid) cap & ball pistol about 45 years ago from a mixture of a kit gun and some actual parts from real antique guns. The barrel is from a 44 caliber (i think, not sure of the exact caliber as all I had was the barrel itself. Could be 45). I was told it was off of an old lever action plains rifle. The hammer is from a civil war rifle. I made the sights & all the inlays out of brass. Did all the carving on the wood part. The ramrod holder is made out of a 30-06 case. I browned the barrel the old fashioned way, like the pioneers did. It shoots really well but not very accurate, although I have barked a couple of squirrels with it..
