Cleaning Breech Plugs

There is always some black stuff inside the bowl of the breech plug I can never get clean. What’s your secret to cleaning your breech plug/plugs?

Steel wool

I use 000-0000 steel wool.Fine enough to clean but does no damage.

x3 on the steel wool. Sometimes i’ll wrap some around a small bore brush and chuck it in a drill to get in there and scrub them out.

I usually get that area clean with Qtips. Takes quite a few but they work for me.

Brass brush with steel wool in a cordless drill. A couple seconds and gone.

Berrymans Carb Cleaner dip.

I use either a 44 or 45 caliber pistol bronze bore brush. It works great for me. Let us know how you make out.
