Colt's 1rst model Patterson revolving rifle

Colt's 1rst model Patterson revolving rifle was first issued the Texas Navy as well as in 1839 to the U.S. 2nd Dragoons in the Florida Campaign against the Seminole Indians. Later Colt revolving rifles/carbines would be of a larger caliber with a side hammer. The Paterson revolvers as well as the rifle/carbines proved to be a great advantage against natives who had used effective measures against previous muzzleloading single shot muskets/rifles/carbines. Used well into the Civil War.

Yep...me too...although pretty rare. I discovered today that Navy Arms imported the later "Colt Root" carbines of the Civil War era but quit when they had too many issues with multi-fires and resulting injuries. :Questuon:
