I would like to hear who has the CVA Buckhorn muzzleloader and any types of problems or good things about them. I purchased the Buckhorn a few weeks ago, just havent gotten out to shoot it yet. I had read some reviews about it and so far they have been great.

First off I do not own one. I own a CVA Staghorn Magnum which the Buckhorn replaced. They are an entry level rifle, but don't let that spook you. Mine is a great shooter by any standard. 90 grains of Pyrodex RS and 240 XTP's or 240 grain Cheap Shots, 250 grain Shockwaves, and this rifle will really shoot. Also it shoots powerbelts real well but at the price they are asking for them, they can keep them.

They are a simple rifle to operate. With the open breech and the hammer striker design, there is very little to go wrong with it. Also most of them have a great trigger from all reports.

Good luck with the new rifle.
