The jug of lot 31 went dry. This necessitated the opening of a jug of lot 33. It was found lot 33 is denser than lot 31.

Actual measured densities is a function of how one measures the powder. Chances are we all won't measure the same exact density, but we all should agree the density of lot 33 is higher than the density of lot 31.


Measured density here:

100 grain of lot 31 weighs 72 grain
100 grain of lot 33 weighs 73.4 grain
 
Depends on several factors. Volume measure used, type of scale used, calibration of scale, measured at the same time, storageage of powder, humidity, and other factors.

If everything was equal for both measurements, and done back to back with more than one sample (5-10) each, then I would agree. Some here claim they can't even Volume measure from the same bottle and lot number within 1.4 grains Weight, for a 100 grain Volume charge.

Even at the 1.4 grain Weight discrepancy, you're only talking 15ish FPS deviation.
