Well I finally got the chance to shoot a rifle with a Nightforce scope attached to it. No, it wasn't a muzzleloader but at least I got to try the scope. It was mounted on a custom heavy barrel .308 "f" class competition rifle that a friend had built recently. I only fired 2 groups of 3 shots each with it at 300 yds off the bench. Allthough such small exposure is not enough to gain a real opinion on a scope, I did notice a few things. One this is a really big scope, optics were on par with anything I have used before, and it was really nice. It was doing it's job as I used two different loads my friend was testing, one group was about 2 inches and the other was just hair under one inch outside to outside, both groups fired off the bench. Really was a nice shooting combo.

I've heard they are "big" and heavy but when the sun goes down it's "katey bar the door".
