Firing pin overtravel

I have a Traditions Buckstalker an older model. If I dryfire no cap the firing pin will stick forward and not rebound . I have not found the pin in that position after firing . Pin moves freely if I put a punch on the back and move it back and forth anybody else encounter this ?

No, but I’ve never dry fired one.

Maybe nothing for the firing pin to bounce back off?

Dont dry fire that gun. Put something, anything in there. A spent primer or piece of leather or even a bit of cardboard.
