OMG!! What a gun and a great restoration. Thanks for the pix and narrative and insight into history. W

Played a few hours with this rifle at Friendship.
Tried some different powder charges, seemed to like 30gr Swiss 3f at 50 yards.
Not bad off my elbows..

Did you run your LabRadar during that? If not, i wonder what it’s doing with 30 Grains of Swiss 3F? What does that 0.395 Ball weigh? I have a .36 Cal TC Seneca with a Fairly rough bore, I thought about sending this barrel to Bobby Hoyt for a Rebore, or a new Liner? .40 Cal Roundball sounds fun :yeah:

Patched Round Ball is something I really need to get out and put forth some effort in learning, i have shot a VERY limited amount of PRB, i remember it being fun due to the Light Recoil, but I couldn’t get the accuracy that i hoped for. Simple fact is i haven’t put in the time to learn it. I understand Ball Diameter and Patch thickness can play a big roll in accuracy?

I did not, I'll have to get back to the range soon. But, it will have to wait as I'm out of town..

Weekend of hunting but the deer didn’t cooperate (within range).
