As soon as I made that last post I was wondering about the sub-bases. I have a pile of them left over from my Savage 10ml II. That would prove or disprove the QLA business. Has anyone done that?

My old tc triumph would shoot a 3 foot group at 50 with the no excuses but if I put a 3/4 inch stack of wads under the bullet it would shoot them to less than an inch same idea as the sub base

I use them all the time shooting full bore projectiles and they could really help a mis-aligned QLA. But as you have noted I think most Black Diamonds and the age they were good to go...

Veggie wads - shot cards will work also...

A lot of people prefer the wool wad also..

Nitro cards are a great idea. They are cheap as all get out.
