going hunting

Hi All, just thought that i would make a few avid hunters a bit envious of hunters here in Kiwi land .
There is no defined hunting season and no licence needed ,what is recognised as the hunting season is when the stags are "roaring"  but any time you have the inclination and time is hunting season .

There are several deer species , thar and chamios as well as feral goats , wallabies and pigs there used to be moose , some say there still are but a moose has not been shot since 1952..
There are no snakes or bears in fact nothing that could cause you bodily harm except an irate property owner but there are also a lot of public lands where you can get a permit to shoot with no difficulty .. In need of a holiday with hunting just beware of the trophy hunts offered at great expense ,you will get to shoot a good head but the cost will make your eyes water and the "HUNT" will be a joke .. However a visit to a local gun shop here and a talk to  one of the staff will mostly produce a real hunt with friendly shooter who might even take you home  to meet his family there is also the local Deer stalkers and hunters clubs where good advice can be gathered ... Rob
