Iron sights

Ok guys, I am starting to have problems with my eyes (several surgeries) and the iron sights on my TC Hawken. I have been researching the Williams Fire Sight. I know it's made of aluminum, will it hold up? Any thoughts? Shooting my pistols, which I love to do, is becoming very frustrating. My qualification scores at the Sheriff's Office have dropped from the 90s to the 80s.

I need some advice.

Thanks,
Jerry

Re: Iron sights

Williams makes great sites and they hold up very well. One thing I would do is tape up one side of the front site and then drip a clear epoxy in it to bed the fiber optic to prevent it from breaking. This is a  big pain in the butt with front fiber optic sights due to the large gaps between one end to the next.

Re: Iron sights

I didn't like the front sight on my Model 1100 Remington turkey blaster so I replaced the fiber optic.

It's held up quite well in the field and is quite visible down the rib.   :)
