I have a pair of Nikon Monarch ATB's 8X42 in camo. I paid $200 for them used. I really love these binoculars. I'll admit I haven't really looked at many other brands but I am very satisfied with the Monarchs.
The above link has a great price for the Monarchs ($215), Cabelas wants over $300 for them.

They also got a good review on the Cabelas website.
I bought a Crooked Horn Harness for mine which makes carrying them much more comfortable. There are may other bino harnesses out there. Walmart has the Crooked Horns.

I really liked the Monarchs when I was buying, especially for the price. I just liked the Kahles 10x42 better. Of course European optics have gone crazy expensive since I bought mine. The 2 very very similar in price then.
