Little piece of urban heaven

Living in the middle of a city doesn't always offer a bit of serenity, but we are blessed to have a stream flowing right behind our house along a bike path. The stream flows into a river only a half block away after it flows over a pair of small dams. The dams offer some of the nicest music to sit and listen to from our back steps facing the park but its this natural waterfall that affords us the best of the best in water-borne tunes.

The dams offer some of the nicest music to sit and listen to from our back steps facing the park but its this natural waterfall that affords us the best of the best in water-borne tunes.

This small waterfall is just ahead of the first dam and is visible pretty much all year. In the winter ice formations can be amazing there. Soon leaves will help shade the riffles seen here and will be a favorite daytime haunt for mallards and some resident woodies. This morning I took my mug of coffee out on the steps and dialed in to some of the prettiest music that can fill one's ears.
