Anyone know these off the top of their head? The screw that came in a brand new 336W only had about 1.5 threads into the barrel. When I started to drift a new front sight in, it just popped off the barrel.

(I had to leave it attached to the barrel because the new front sight (Williams Firesight) covers part of the screw.)

Getting the part isn't the issue, it's that the screw is too short or the sight base is not reamed deep enough. I am pretty sure now that it is #6-48 thread and I can get longer ones. Alternately, I may ruin a drill bit and try to deepen the counter-sink on the sight base. Marlin service won't just send me a longer screw, so I will have to spend $10 either way to buy a cobalt drill bit or a dozen longer screws.
