After looking at MMP's website, I have to ask whether certain of their sabots can be used with cast bullets? What I have in mind is trying their HPH 12 (green) sabot with a .430" Keith CB (either Lyman #429421 or the RCBS equivalent) and their Orange sabot designed for .457" - .458" CB's, in this case either the Lyman 330gr. Gould HP or the 340gr. Lee CB. Both will be loaded over 70 - 80grs. Goex FFg. Is this a good idea or not? Btw, the alloy will be wheelweights + 1% Sn.

Think you will find that there are a lot of folks shooting lead in a sabot... should work just fine...

Cast bullets

I use a .430 cast 240 gr keith type a 300 gr .430 from a lee die. I also cast a .458 400 gr that I use in orange mmp sabots, I also resize this bullet to 452 and use in black sabot. all shot well in my 50 I also use the 458 in my 54cal you can save a lot of money with cast bullets..
