my new model 97

hey all,

just wanted to say i finally shot my new white today. it is a great shooting gun. i had a blast with it.

i shot only open sights out to 100 yrds, but i was very consistant with my patterns.

i used the no excuses (460 gr.) with 70 gr. of ffg.

i definately am going to put a quality scope on it even though i am going to keep my shots at 100 yrds or less for now.

what a weapon. thanks to all for pursuading me to purchase this.

Definitely nice shootin' rifles.

Steve Brown informed me by email they do have the scope bases available for the 97 (Umag, Whitetail) at about $24 per set, blue or ss finished. That's probably your best bet for good scope mount bases.

You got a good one.. the 97 is a great model. I have one as well and you're right they are a a great looking and great shooting rifle. I put a Nikon Pro Staff on mine and it works great.

I shoot the 500 grain Bullshop conicals out of mine with 70 grains of T-7 3f with great results...
