Picked up a Savage Mod 93 with full length bull barrel at the local pawn shop a few days ago. I mounted a 4-12x40 Nikon buckmaster II scope with Durasight quick detach rings. So far the Hornady ammo is the winner but CCI is close enough and about $7 cheaper so I will use that for my whopping 25 yard shots on foxes 
My nieces 7 year old son had a blast with this out at the Whittington center this week. That little **** was hitting steel targets out to 200 yards with that .17! His last 5 shots he went for the 100 yard pigs and every shot, he made the steel ring lol. This was his first time shooting. I blame the war games he plays on his xbox
