I was hunting a lot when younger but now I mostly target practice for recreation purposes.

Are you using your Lyman rifle now?

I just recently acquired it and do not have percussion caps for it. I was exploring what was involved in making it use something besides #11 caps as I did see some musket caps in a few places. If I change the nipple and the hammer still won't do the job then I will hang it on the wall until I find #11 caps.
No experience with muzzle loaders so I am reading what I can in my spare time.

Shouldn’t be any reason it won’t shoot fine with a musket cap nipple and musket caps.
