I am new to this. I used 100 gr. White Hots and 100 gr. Powerbelt Aerolites. 100 yards.

I tried to do it in a way I replicate when going hunting. So I cleaned the barrel and fired two primers before shot. I did learn that I have to clean the flash channel before each shot if I really want to be accurate. I bought the cva drill bit tools.

Damn good shooting for a first timer with a new rifle!

One thing you can play with is different primers and see how they affect your accuracy. I agree with cleaning between shots, its a must with any powder other than blackhorn209.

Welcome to the forum as well, it's good to have you with us.

Great shooting there d91  :!: :!: :!: What was the weight of the AEROLITES :?:  I used the 300 gainers with really good results.

d91, welcome to the group and that is some great shooting for the first time with that set up.

Thanks guys! It was my third trip to the range. My second try with the aerolites. They were 250 grain. I believe heavier billets are usually more accurate. My friend told me to try the lighter ones.

A local store has the 300 grain powerbelt Platinum for 19.99 sale price. Thinking I might pick some of them up to try after deer season. I gave 5 of the 250 aerolites left so I'm going to hunt with them.

That's a great group at a 100 yards!  You don't need to be changing things up too much.

I have not shot muzzleloader since I was about 18 and that was with a Renegade kit my dad and I built.  I'm itching to finish getting my rifle setup so I can go shoot!

Very good shooting. I hope I can do so well! I just brought a CVA Optima V2 Northwest stainless
I will be starting out with 250gr. Hornady SST high speed low drag sabots with flex tip
