My nephew, a friend and i got out for a ride toward toward ted turners ranch. A good 110 mile ride. The other two ride 1100 bikes where as mine is a 500. The look on their faces when i calculate my gas milage is awesome lol. I pulled a best ever, 69 mpg doing 65 through the mountains today.

Colo always gets good weather before we do. My custom sporty I've had for over 17 years. 1200, programmable electronic ign, adj push rods, forward controls etc. Custom paint by yours truly. Been in a bunch of 4th of July parades and a winner at small venue car shows in the bike class. I'm selling to finance my Oldsmerado paint job. My sense of balance isn't so good anymore on mountain curves so it was time for it to go. Wifey has a 1200 anniversary in two tone candy apple red, been ridin' since she was 16, grew up in Denver, lucky to be alive!

You guys can't show bikes without a big boobed babe sitting on it.

Beautiful rides gentlemen. Like Marty makes me miss my rides through the hills on my 83 Honda cb 1000 custom, 82 Honda cb 900 custom, Suzuki gs 550 L and 1976 goldwing 1000. Got rid of goldwing 6 months ago. Love to get another CB 900 custom some day. Think they were only made in 1980-1982 then they went to CB 1000 custom in 1983 then to the magna and sabre after that

I haven't been on my bikes since 2 knee surgeries 2-3 years ago, and I miss it.

Facing reality, I sold my dual-sport motorcycle, a Kawasaki KLR650. There is no way I'll be going back to dirt riding.

However, I can't let go of my Yamaha FJR1300 sport-tourer. I've taken that bike cross country several times. Trips from Colorado to Oregon, Montana, North and South Dakaota, Canada, Arkansas, Virginia, California, Nevada, and other locations supply great memories (and bad ones- hail in North Dakota, snow in June in the Wyoming Snowy Range). Plus, I was addicted to the potential thrills of 144 HP and 99 pound-ft of torque, even though I rarely took advantage of those capabilities. One time to a bit over 120 mph on a Wyoming back road straightaway was enough to fulfill that bucket item.

The family is pushing me to sell the bike, but I just can't let it go or let go of the thought that I may still be able to ride it.

.
That's your age Ron, take it out and fall off of it and you'll change your mind about selling. That's what I did along with a few other old friends.

I had my first bike, a Harley in l964. My last bike burned in a shop fire about 18 months ago. Have not replaced it yet.

I could be satisfied with a car that can just make the speed limits and get me around. When it comes to motorcycles, I am enamored with POWER.
