Furnished by Mnt monkey. This is a 45 caliber bullet.

Bullet was shot into bottles set out 25 yard. Powder charge is 80g Blackhorn. Rifle shot is a 50 caliber Omega. Bestill breach plug. Primer is STS. Sabot is black crush rib.

First four bottles destroyed. Last two bottles holed. Bullet was caught by the stack of magazines. Bullet penetrated into magazines (see photo).

That is impressive. Great penetration.

I would imagine The recoil was noticeable too

Seems like it may do ok at lower speeds too. Less weight loss, maybe a bigger mushroom

I wonder if any of the 50 cal 24 twist rifles available would shoot it, if so seems like it would be a good elk bullet. I've got a Pedersoli rolling block open sight I may try it with the light load of black powder substitute not Black Horn!!
