After nearly 20 years of shooting pyrodex pellets and reading hundreds of threads on BH209, mostly good, some not as good. I took the plunge this week when BH209 became available locally. I have 2 10ounce jugs of it to get started on the journey. It is my intent to make the Knight LRH a dedicated Bh209 gun and leave the blackdiamond XR setup for pellets (my security blanket if all goes wrong). Any thoughts on how to optimize this gun are welcome, I am sure I will have many questions along the way. I am currently looking at load data threads and breach plug threads so any insight would also be welcome. My current preferred bullet is the Barnes 290 gr TEZ and I have 1000 federal 209a primers and a few cci regular primers.

Thanks as always.

No experience with the LRH, but with my LHR I wouldn’t give it anything but the best and Blackhorn has a monopoly on bp substitutes right now.

You will find with the proper ignition system that with BH209 you will be more consistent, more accurate and without most of the cleaning and swabbing between shots headaches that come with shooting pellets or loose 777.

I swore I would never go back to 777 after experiencing this myself.

Bestill has the BEST option, but you can also get the Lehigh Bare Primer setup for a good bit less $. All my Knights shoot blowback free with them. You need the breechplug, bolt primer adapter, and vent liners. This makes a fantasic setup!

Thanks, looks like a great option. They are out of the adapters right now so I am on the notify list for when in stock. Thanks for pointing me this direction.

Do I need extra vent liners with my set up from jeff
Jeff's Breech plug does not use a Ventliner. It has a Tungsten carbide insert that you may never shoot out. Its a bit more $$ but well worth it. IF your current bolt is for the RPJ you'll still need the adapter for Jeff's plug too. The Lehigh is a great option and that is the one you need the ventliners for.
