I have a new Remington Genesis that I will use for hunting this fall. This is my first muzzleloader for shooting sabbots. I note that parts (specifically a breech plug) are scarce for the Genesis. Two questions:

1- Would it be a good idea to have a second breech plug?

2- If yes, where would I find one to fit it?

Thank you in advance.

The Remington Genesis is built on the same specifications as the Traditions Yukon. Call Traditions Arms and ask them if the breech plug from the Yukon will fit the Genesis. If the Genesis breaks it will be Traditions that fix the rifle I was told.

I have a Stainless Steel Remington Genesis and it is a great rifle. It is a good idea to have spare parts, should you ever need one. Although I have shot over 500 rounds through mine, and the Breech plug looks fine. Although shooting BlackHorn 209 does worry me as far as breech plug life.
