Found some 45 caliber sabot with the petals cut off. Loaded them into a 45 Omega, and shot them out with different primers, and clocked them at about seven feet with a chrony. Shot each primer type three times.

Awesome! I was just thinking of doing some kind of test like this recently.

I was starting a corrosion test recently (results to come some day soon) and was trying to get a squib load of BH209 to ignite without a bullet (using wads and sub bases.) Couldn’t do it. My Fed209A s were really blasting the unburnt powder out the barrel though!

WOW! I'm amazed at the velocities you got in the test. Very cool, TY

Wow, this Test makes me Wonder if the Win 777 Primers would ignite BH 209 in your Omega Bestill plug in the Cold Weather Test?

Keep in mind; when Western Powders was designing a plug for CVA rifles, they ended with a near exact copy of the OEM Omega plug internal dimensions. Bestill' plug design won't ignite Blackhorn better than the standard Omega plug. Bestill' plug is a better plug because it is made of better material, has a flash hole in a tungsten carbide bushing, and can be sized to fit one's choice of primer.

Bestill' plug is a wonderful plug, and is the only plug used in my rifles, but it does not ignite Blackhorn better than the standard Omega plug.
