I spent 4 days hunting at a different place from Thurs.-Sun. and never saw a deer from my stand .. plenty of hunters but no deer.
I went back to my stand about 12 miles away from that place and saw another doe at the same time (9:00) as the one I shot but this one was craftier. She was on a different trail 45 yards from me and partially hidden by brush. Poor shot choice so I passed on it.
I trailed her a couple of hours later and the trail led me to a new spot that looks favorable for deer and hogs. I'll give it a try in muzzleloading season which starts on 10/18. Bow season is essentially over in this district now.
